Rivetto, established in 1902 by Giovanni Rivetto, began as a grape and wine trading business in Piedmont, Italy. In 1938, the family acquired the Tenuta Loirano estate in the Serralunga and Sinio hills, marking a significant expansion. Under the leadership of fourth-generation winemaker Enrico Rivetto, the winery transitioned to organic viticulture in 2009 and achieved Demeter biodynamic certification in 2019, becoming the first in the Barolo and Barbaresco regions to do so. Enrico has diversified the estate by planting over 1,000 trees, introducing various crops, and incorporating animals like donkeys to foster a self-sustaining ecosystem.
