Château Hortevie, a Cru Bourgeois estate in Saint-Julien, France, was acquired by Bruno Borie from the Pradere family in 2005. Following the purchase, the term 'Château' was dropped from the label, and the wine was produced under the name Hortevie Saint-Julien. The 3.4-hectare vineyard, planted with 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot, benefited from the expertise of the Ducru-Beaucaillou team, leading to enhanced quality. Notably, the wine was produced in the same cellars as Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, as Hortevie lacked its own winemaking facilities. Production ceased after the 2012 vintage.
